So, as you can probably tell, not a whole lot has been coming out of my kitchen lately; however, something pretty great has just gone in to it! One of my big “keep myself busy” projects was to put up a backslash in our kitchen, which I am happy to say I have successfully checked of my list. And I have to say, I am pretty impressed with myself.

Quite a few people tried to convince me that I was in over my head, and that I should just hire someone to put it up for me; but, I refuse to be told I “can’t” do anything. I’m glad I had faith in myself, because for someone who didn’t have a clue what they were doing, it turned out great. Beyond a few Google searches and a couple of conversations with some people at the local home improvement store, I had no experience and just jumped right in with both feet (as I do in most things in life).

Now, I don’t mean to make this seem easy by any means (in total the project took me well over 14 hours), but it was certainly worth it. In case you are thinking of doing something similar I found this guide to be particularly helpful. So, have a little faith in yourself, all will work out (just like in cooking!).
