So, I woke up the other morning craving mexican food (mexican food in the morning? I know.) So for dinner I just had to make some tacos. I hate using those packets of seasoning because they are loaded with sodium, so this is my alternative. I always make a triple batch so I have plenty to store for later, then it’s just as convenient (and way more health conscious) as the packaged stuff.
Taco Seasoning (Print Me)
Ingredients:
1 Tbsp chili powder
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper (omit if you don’t want it to be spicy)
1/4 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp paprika
1 1/2 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp sea salt (or regular salt)
1 tsp ground black pepper
Directions:
Mix all ingredients; to make tacos brown meat and drain, use 2-3 tablespoons of seasoning and 2/3 cup of water per 1 pound of ground meat (I use beef, but I’m sure it would be great on turkey or shredded chicken too), allow to simmer until liquid is absorbed. Enjoy!
